On June 6, 2011 at 10:58am, we welcomed our amazing son, Carson Brown Lefebvre to the world. We are so thrilled to have him in our life and look forward to this exciting next chapter with him.
My goodness.... I am soooo sorry to not have replied to all of your comments sooner, but life just seems to get so busy. Here I am at 1:45am finally responding!!! Ahhhh -- the joys of motherhood...;0). First -- let me say -- you look FANTASTIC!!! What a gorgeous and perfect little bump you have. Looks like you are taking great care of yourself. Only 14 weeks to go. Trust me -- it will be here before you know it. To answer your question about sleeping through the night. The best thing we ever did was get miles on a feeding schedule. We did on demand breastfeeding for the first couple of weeks and then switched him to a more rigid feeding schedule. We started with every 3 hours and then moved to every 4 hours after a few weeks. The feeding schedule was soooooo important for helping to foster his internal clock. By 8 weeks old Miles was sleeping 8 hour stretches at a time and by 12 weeks 12 hours straight!!! We also refer to the book "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child" as our "bible". We didn't follow everything in the book -- but most things -- and the information on infant sleep and the importance of it and naps is crucial!!! Also -- by about 6 weeks old, Miles started falling asleep at the same time consistently every night. This was our cue to start putting him to bed at a regular time every night and thus the bed time routine was born. Let's just say -- routine, routine, routine -- schedule, schedule, schedule. I am learning now that this will come in very handy if you decide to have another little one - especially when they are as close in age as mine. Sorry this turned into a novel.... ;0). I did want to share one last thing with you before I sign off. I wasn't sure if I just got lucky with my first pregnancy, but I never got stretch marks and my skin bounced back remarkably well in the postpartum. Genetically -- I am prediposed to get them -- so I was surprised by good fortune. I tried the same things this time around and sure enough -- no stretch marks and my skin is already bouncing back. I thought I'd share what I did in case you are interested. I was meticulous about my "good fat" intake during both pregnancies. I ate 1/2 an avocado every day and took 3 Salmon Oil pills per day. I drank tons of water and moisturized twice a day with the Shea Body Butter from the Body Shop. That moisturizer is beyond amazing for your belly. I personally think it costs a ton for the small tub that you get, but they usually have buy one get one free sales every few weeks -- so I just stocked up when that happened. I really believe that I would have had stretch marks if not for this routine -- especially considering my boys were 8lbs. 9 oz. and 9lbs. Oh -- and a belly binder is like a miracle in rubber!!! I am 11 days postpartum and my belly is back to flat!!! I love the squeem -- but any binder out there will work. Ok -- I should hop off now -- I've given you enough unsolicited advice....;0). Lots of love to you and your growing family. I am looking forward to reading about your continuing journey. Thanks for all your love and support through ours.
