35 weeks down...35 days to go!

Time has flown!!! Let's hope this little guy will want to cook for 35 more days because we have quite a few things planned for the next month. One last babymoon next weekend, 2 concerts, a few events, a spa day for me, and Gabe's Cave Warming/last hoorah before he joins the Dad club. We celebrated Easter today at Mom and Dad's house and can't wait til we get to have an Easter Egg Hunt next year! Every time I see our hilariously adorable nephew, Warren, I get even more excited to meet our own little man. :)

Acupuncture really works!

Yesterday, I went to see my acupuncturist and she decided that she was ready to do some points to start softening my cervix and to start strengthening all my organs for birth prep. I was excited to get started! She started at my feet and all was fine...then she got up to my ears. After 3 needles in one ear, I had a strange flash before my eyes...then after moving to the second ear, I got incredibly dizzy, nauseous, and felt faint. I began sweating profusely and told her immediately. She removed the needles from my ears, sat me up and got me water. The symptoms faded quickly but I think it shocked both of us! Her exact words were, "well, if people think these needles don't do anything, we just proved them wrong!" So true! I have always felt that acupuncture works, however I have never literally felt it so strongly! Needless to say, she is holding off on any induction points until after 37 weeks as to not send me into labor too early! :)

Maternity Photo Shoot

Yesterday, I spent from 10-4 with an amazing photographer, Chris Callahan, taking tons of maternity shots. Gabe & I then met up with her again last night for some sunset shots. I can't wait to see the final results in a few weeks but got a preview of one today.

Just waiting for last minute details....

Here is our nursery thus far...just waiting to hang his name above his crib once he arrives. :)

32 week ultrasound

We started our every 2 weeks doctor visits today and everything is looking great! Baby Lefebvre is looking so chubby now!! He weighs about 4 lbs 4 oz (per the ultrasound...so just an estimate of course) and all his measurements are perfectly normal, "the goldilocks syndrome" per the doctor. :) He has some hair too! If these numbers are all correct and he gains the average 8 oz per week and cooks until 40 weeks....he will weigh about 8 lbs when he arrives!

3rd trimester yawns have arrived!

I officially feel like I did during my first trimester...exhausted!!! Today especially for some reason, it has hit me like a ton of bricks! It's been on and off for about a week now. I'm hoping that it will remain sporadic rather than consistent over the next 7.5 weeks. Other than being tired, I'm feeling pretty good. A little uncomfortable at times...mainly when I cross my legs or bend over...but nothing too bad. I knock on wood every time someone asks me how I am because this pregnancy has been pretty amazing to say the least. :) Gabe said to me today..."do you realize that now when someone asks when the baby is due, we can say NEXT MONTH now!?" Holy crap! We are both really excited and of course nervous all at once.

We had our 6th class last night out of 7 total and we learned baby and adult CPR and choking procedures...both really great to know now! Feeling like these should be an obvious mandatory for parents or anyone that's around young children.

We go to the doctor tomorrow for a check up...another ultrasound and some measurements...I'm eager to see how big this guy is getting since he feels like he is out of room in my belly already! Haha...I know he's got a lot more growing to do though before he gets here.

I have started a nightly vitamin E remedy recommended by a doula to help my cervix start to soften, I'm going to acupuncture more often now (every other week until 36 weeks and then every week til birth) to get my body prepped for labor, and we will start perineal massage at about 36 weeks (per our teacher and acupuncturist) to also prepare for labor. I honestly think there is a part of me still in shock that this is all happening and that this is MY body that will be in labor and give birth to a tiny human. It's all very surreal to me, which I'm sure is normal, but I wonder if I will actually be "present" throughout it all or if I will kind of watch it all from above as I seem to do during HUGE life events. LOL. I hope to be present and take it all in...this is making me realize I need to enhance my focus throughout the next 7.5 weeks while we wait for this little guy's arrival. :)
