Shower Time!

I was showered by the most amazing group of women yesterday! My Mom, my aunt Chrissy, and my two great sister-in-laws, Allie & Megan, hosted an incredible day! From the centerpieces to the balloons to the food to the adorable cookie favors to the yummy dessert table...I could never have imagined a more perfect day to celebrate our little guy on the way. I feel so fortunate to have all of these fun loving and supportive women in my life...they will all make me a better mother as I have watched and learned from many of them. My aunt Mel just wrote to me and my cousin Nicole (who is due 2 days before me), "learn from what we have done right, but also learn from what we have struggled with...learn from our mistakes. All of your Aunts would do anything to make the road easier for you as new moms." They say it takes a village to raise a child and I truly feel as though my village is a great one. This little guy on the way is one lucky, and an already incredibly spoiled kid! I could not be more thankful for our day yesterday. All of my love and appreciation to the beautiful women who partied with me yesterday. :)

30 week belly bump & update...

The weeks are literally flying by now! I feel like I just posted our 29 week bump! I can only imagine how quickly the next 9 weeks and 5 days will go. I am so excited to meet our little man but also feel like I have so much left to do...the nursery is coming along and should be done in the next few weeks for sure. I also need to make an appt with the pediatrician to consult, ask some questions, etc etc. We go to Huntington Hospital tonight for a tour and to get pre-registered. We're still in the deciding process about cord blood...leaning toward yes, but still need to sign up. We have 3 out of our 7 labor, birth, baby care prep classes left and I am also signed up for an additional breast feeding class at Bellies at the end of April. Feeling so lucky to have Megan and Traci at hand! :) My shower is next Sunday and I cannot wait to see all of my favorite family and friends who are coming to help me celebrate!! Stay tuned for more updates to come next week....

29 week (& 2 days) bump

Your baby now weighs about 2 1/2 pounds (like a butternut squash) and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is growing bigger to make room for his developing brain. To meet his increasing nutritional demands, you'll need plenty of protein, vitamin C, folic acid, and iron. And because his bones are soaking up lots of calcium, be sure to drink your milk (or find another good source of calcium, such as cheese, yogurt, or enriched orange juice). This trimester, about 250 milligrams of calcium are deposited in your baby's hardening skeleton each day.

Headed into the 3rd trimester!

27 weeks!

28 weeks!

By this week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of his head to his heels. He can blink his eyes, which now sport lashes. With his eyesight developing, he may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. He's also developing billions of neurons in his brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.

Welcome Baby Warren Anthony Haynes!

Warren Anthony arrived this morning at 4:15am, weighing in at 6lbs 6oz and 20 inches long! He has a full head of hair and is perfect from head to toe. Megan and Andy are both in heaven as well as exhausted from their 63 hours of labor and can't wait to get home tomorrow...but they could not be happier to have their son finally here! We can't wait to introduce him to his cousin in just 12 weeks!!!

Updates!

It's been a while since we posted a good update about what's been going on at the Lefebvre house...

First things first...Andy and Megan are currently at the hospital awaiting the arrival of baby Warren! She was due on Monday and her doctor told them he would let them go a week before inducing. They were then sent to the hospital yesterday after being a day late and the monitor gave reason. So here they sit, 24 hours later, after a 9 hour dose of cervidil, and now pitocin since 3am...and Megan is at about 1cm. They are tired and bored but looking forward to meeting their little one soon! We're all thinking good thoughts and saying prayers for some movement soon and a healthy and happy delivery, baby, and Mom. :)

Gabe and I started our baby classes last week and we've been to two so far. They are once a week for 2.5 hours for 7 weeks. It's been very informative and educational the past two weeks and we really like our teacher, Fina. She is a nurse but also had her own baby at home...so a very good balance between the medical and natural sides, which is exactly what we were looking for when choosing a class.

We also got our furniture and rug last week so we've put together the crib at this point. The dresser/changer will be tackled this weekend. I'm working on the details of the room more now...window treatments, decor, etc. Gabe is currently remodeling his garage "man cave" so that he has a place to hang out with his son later on. He is really excited about it and it should be done within the month...fingers crossed since there is a large futon in the nursery right now that can't stay too long! :)

Baby Lefebvre is doing great and definitely growing these days! I feel like I have gained more weight in the past 5 days than I have since the beginning of this pregnancy! I've gained 12 pounds total as of last Thursday, so this could be the week of a growth spurt! Bending over has been more of a challenge (i.e. putting shoes on, etc), as has just getting comfortable in certain positions. Ha! Can't imagine what it will be like in 2 months!

So that's the gist of what's been going on around here. We go for our 3D ultrasound and my glucose test on March 17th...stay tuned for pictures and updates! :)
